    We call 'em "nastar" in Indonesian (short for tart nanas) & theyre served during Eid too! Only ours look like plain balls, theyre not shaped like sunflowers

    Hi, I used to make pineapple tarts when I was a teen growing up in Singapore. Shortcrust pastry, add a bit of sugar. Add cloves to the pineapple jam and loads of sugar. Jam cooks for 3 hrs as it slowly caramalises. I had a traditional tart mould which you can't find any more these days.
